Early life and education
[edit]Boitano was born in San Francisco and graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, California.[1] He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Regents College of the University of the State of New York (now Excelsior University), in [2]
Career
[edit]Boitano was elected to the New Mexico Senate in and assumed office in Boitano did not seek re-election in and left office in January [3][4] During his tenure, Boitano also served as ranking member of the Senate Corporations and Transportation Committee. Since , Boitano has worked as a real estate broker.[5]

Brian Anthony Boitano (born October 22, )[1] is an American figure skater from Sunnyvale, California. He is the Olympic champion, the and World Champion, and the – U.S. National Champion.
Boitano turned professional following the season. Under new rules by the ISU, he returned to competition in and competed at the Winter Olympics, where he placed sixth.[2] In , he was inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame and the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame.[3]
Early life
[edit]Brian Boitano was born in and raised in Mountain View, California. Boitano is a graduate of Marian A. Peterson High School in Sunnyvale, California.[4] He is of Italian American descent, with family from northern Italy.[5][6] As an adult, he has lived in San Francisco.[7]
Figure skating career

[edit]Beginning skating as a child, Brian Boitano won a gold medal at the Junior U.S. Championships in and first made his mark on the international scene when he won the bronze medal at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships, beating future rival Brian Orser for that medal.[8][9]
